Change your Domain Name and Keep your SEO

301 Redirect is the Right Way for SEO

I recently decided to change the name of a website to something more fitting.  I wasn’t familiar with redirecting since I had never needed to before.  After a lot of trial and error, and killing my website, I figured out how to correctly redirect it (with a 301 redirect) in a way that makes Google happy.  This redirect also makes it possible to keep a majority of your page rankings, which is fantastic.  Since I’m not a fan of reinventing the wheel, here is the article I found.  It works much better than any WordPress plugin (I tried two and ended up frustrated!) and is easy to follow.

Here is the article is from wpbeginner.com : How to Properly Move WordPress to a New Domain Without Losing SEO
